Choosing accommodation in Phu Quoc becomes easier when you sketch out your days before looking for a room. A hotel suited to a short trip may differ from a place suited to several days spent within a resort. Rather than following a general ranking, consider the area, how you want to travel and how much time you will actually spend at your accommodation.

Duong Dong: consider it for a first visit and a varied itinerary

Vietnam Tourism introduces Duong Dong for its dining experiences. The night market area changed in 2026, so read the update and check again before visiting. If a short stay includes the beach, dinners out and trips in different directions, this area is worth adding to your accommodation search.

Check each hotel's precise location, rather than relying only on the area name. Confirm nearby walking routes, transport to your planned stops and the breaks you want between activities.

AVS is at 100C/2 Tran Hung Dao in Duong Dong. The hotel's website describes its location near the beach, Ren restaurant and room options. If you want to return to your hotel to rest after days out, explore AVS rooms and compare them with your group's needs.

Ong Lang: look closely when you want fewer changes of scene

Vietnam Tourism includes Ong Lang among Phu Quoc's beach options. If you want to spend more time around your accommodation, look at properties in this area and consider the distances between your room, the beach and places to eat.

Look beyond attractive photographs. Ask about beach access, whether spaces are private or shared, and dinner options. A place suited to several days of staying nearby may require more careful transport planning for trips around the island.

The south: useful when your main activities are in one direction

Sao Beach and activities around An Thoi are among the southern options described by travel guides. If most of your outings are here, searching for accommodation in the same direction may simplify your itinerary.

List two or three places you want to visit and check routes from the hotel before booking. Staying in the south does not mean you can walk to every attraction or beach.

If you only plan one southern excursion during a three-day break, you can also stay elsewhere and set that day aside for exploring. You do not need to change hotels to match each sight.

The north: choose around your activities and length of stay

Destination guides mention Ganh Dau and other experiences in the north. If this is the focus of your trip, look for accommodation near the activities you actually want to enjoy, then check travel arrangements for arrival and departure days.

For a stay focused on the property, ask carefully about the services your group needs. For a stay focused on exploring, check transport and advance-booking conditions. The area name is only the first filter.

Five questions to answer before booking

  • Are your main stops in one direction or spread across the island?
  • Do you want to eat out often, or mainly at your accommodation?
  • What transport suits the group, and should you book it in advance?
  • Does the room suit your guest numbers, bed arrangement and particular needs?
  • Do cancellation, change, check-in and checkout conditions fit your flights?

The right accommodation helps your holiday follow your chosen pace. Read the conditions for your actual dates and discuss important needs before deciding.
